The Municipality of Tarsus opened Etem Çalışkan Reading Room under Sunay Atilla Üstgeçidi on October 29, 2010 with the aim of providing a habit of reading books and providing a quiet working environment to our young people within the scope of cultural services.
On the 87th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic, the reading room opened to service is operating on an area of 265 m2. Reading Room is open from 09:00 to 18:00, six days a week except Sunday, operated by 1 responsible officer, 1 officer and 2 Security Officers. There are 4965 books as well as 20 Internet-connected computers in the reading room named Tarsus artist-painter Etem Çalışkan.
